Elle Magazine & supermodel Gisele Bundchen have teamed up for PRODUCT (RED) which benefits the Global Initiative to help eliminate AIDS in Africa this year.  ELLE magazine will simultaneously feature (RED) in more than thirty editions globally, with content provided by the (RED)hot Brazilian in addition to Scarlett Johansson and Bono.

By launching this large-scale initiative, ELLE is backing (RED) a brand created in 2006 by the lead singer of U2 and activist, Bono and Bobby Shriver, an American philanthropist, to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. Money is generated through the involvement of partner brands who design and sell specific (PRODUCT) ^RED branded products and contribute up to 50% of the profits to the Global Fund* to invest in African AIDS programs with an emphasis on the health of women and children.

 

The number of countries involved and the simultaneous publication of the features across the ELLE network make this a global ‘first’ in publishing. From mid-January to the end of February, ELLE will speak with one voice to more than 20 million readers through some thirty international editions.

 

The issue will appear on 17 January 2009 in ELLE France and in the February issues of 30 other international editions on sale in mid-January (except for the UK, Japan and Quebec editions which will be dated March 2009 and go on sale at the end of January).

Cindy Crawford is probably my 2nd favorite supermodel of all time (next to the fierce Naomi Campbell of course).  And while Naomi has yet to retire, Crawford’s presence has been sorely missed in the fashion world.  NY Magazine is reporting Cindy makes a return strapping on her supermodel attire for a spread in French Vogue.  The result are hot &  Eye4style has the preview.

According to Fashionista.com & FWD, trinket gab mag, Elle Accessories, is “suspending” publication promptly.  Oddly, the publisher plans to return the magazine in Fall of 2009.  Well wishes go out to the editors & staff in a speedy recovery to a new job!

Victoria Beckham channels exotic lands & long wigs for her latest spread for the November 2008 issue of Vogue India.  Though the cover has gotten mixed reviews by fellow bloggers, I think Posh looks positively stunning & it’s nice to see her hair style changed even in the case of a wig.  The classic bridal wardobe of India looks so romantic & mysterious on Vicky - It makes me want to travel to India myself … but then again I’m hankering for some good paneer & garlic naan right about now.  What?  It’s almost lunch time!
