Be Kind - A Feetful State of Mind
After hearing that flats can be just as bad for your tootsies as those stacked heels, I thought I would comprise a few of my favs that get my tootsies through the work day & twinkle-toed back at home.
Bad for Your Feet? The Low Down on Flats
Working girls may curse sky high heels, but the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists claim flats aren’t much better. According to Mike O’Neill, a spokesman for the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists, flat shoes can “strain the achilles tendon that runs from the back of the heel, and also the calf muscles in the back of the leg.” Wearing flats presents just as many risk as heels because the foot is not properly supported.
So what is a young fashionista with a foot fetish to do? Rather than dig you heels into the gorund, rotate your shoe styles & don’t wear the same pair all day every day. Calf stretches can also help keep muscles less prone to strain & injury.
Remember: Your feet take you everywhere in life - treat them well!
